Anna Kendrick was born in Portland, Maine, to Janice (Cooke), an accountant and William Kendrick, a teacher. Her older brother is, Michael Cooke Kendrick, who has also performed. She is from English, Irish, and Scottish descent.For her performance as "Dinah" in "High Society" on Broadway, Anna Kendrick was nominated for an Tony Award (second youngest ever), the Drama Desk Award, and an award called a Fany Award (best actress featured in a musical).
