Britney Jean Spears was born on 2
December, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi & raised in Kentwood, Louisiana.
As a youngster, Britney attended dance classes and was a pro in gymnastics,
winning numerous contests and similar. Britney was a great singer and dancer.
Britney was just 8 years old when she applied to join The All New Mickey Mouse
Club (1989), however her age and youth led to her being rejected. This directed
her to an off-Broadway musical, "Ruthless", for two years as the lead
character. The show was re-run for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), this
time as a mouseketeer. In the late 90s Britney was signed to Jive Recording
Artist. With the release of her debut album"Baby One Last Time"
"...Baby One More Time" in early 1999 Britney was a worldwide hit and
sold 13 million copies of "Baby" and 9 million (as as of July 2001)
of her sophomore album "Oops !...I Did It Again" and was released in
the month of May of 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears and Jamie
Spears. She has one of her brothers Bryan Spears and a little sister Jamie Lynn
Spears. From a young age, Britney was always fixing to be a celebrity with her
idols like Madonna, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, the young Britney could
always be heard singing, no matter what was happening in the world around her.
After a long period of singing and dancing classes and performing in numerous
show and fairs Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989)
television show between 1989 and 1994 when she was just aged eight, but was too
young to be able to audition for the role. Britney along with her little sister
Britney relocated to New York, where she played in a variety of TV commercials
and in an off Broadway play called "Ruthless" under the guidance by
Natalie Portman. She fell in love with dance and music 2 years later, when she
auditioned for the role of "Mickey Mouse" and won the part along with
Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
