Tessa Tessa Amanda AmandaPointe Claire, a quiet neighborhood situated in the West Island of Montreal is home to a number of small businesses. People aren't sure of the meaning of the word, and think it is a separate Island west of Montreal. In fact, this part of Montreal is more than that. West Island includes the entire part of the island from Lachine towards the west. Amanda Brugel is said to be from the West Island. However, her stay was short. Brugel had a childhood in Courtice near Oshawa, Ontario. Early ambitions were to be an experienced dancer. But, an increase surge meant she had outgrown the dancers she had with. According to an article from The Toronto Star, she confessed, "In heels I am 6 feet 1 inches." Once I had outgrown my male counterparts and stopped dancing, I quit. Some former dancers switch to acting. In the case of Brugel it was an nudge from an instructor in drama at high school that led her into the correct direction. It was suggested that she audition for a part in her school's production. It was the teacher who suggested that she try out for a role in the annual school production. She ended up being cast as Anne of Green Gables. She was given an Fine Arts Talent scholarship at York University, where she was a theatre student and earned the Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in 2000.
