Cynthia started her career when she moved into New York and pursuing a job as a fashion model. Cynthia's Essence cover that was the most-sold in magazine history, was also Susan Taylor's most-loved. Then, Cynthia booked her second cover. This created the stage for her successful career. Following her move to Paris Cynthia took to her Paris Fashion Week runways and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia, who had lived overseas for nearly one year, came back to New York City where she was very in demand. Advertising campaigns in the name of Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's and Macy's was among her first assignments. Elle's, Glamour's Essence's Vanity Fair magazine editorials soon followed. Cynthia was chosen as the preferred choice by Naomi Campbell over Naomi Campbell as co-star with Sandra Bernhadt for the film, "Without You, I'm nothing."
