Linda Blair rose quickly to fame and won an award called the Golden Globe. She was scheduled to also win an Academy Award. But when the story broke that some of her parts were not being performed by Linda (the vocals of the demonic were made up by actors and the eight seconds were captured by the stuntman), that dream fell off the rails. Her success was in landing leading roles in a range of movies, including the highly popular television film Born Innocent. However, Linda was detained when she was in a situation where she was pressured to buy cocaine once she turned 18 and received an imposed three-year probation period. Linda was blacklisted by Hollywood following the widely-publicized drug arrest. Her acting career was soon only limited to B films and guests TV appearances.
